The Kentucky Shoe Travelers Association, Inc. is a non-profit corporation incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  It is run by a Board of Directors selected from its membership of shoe and accessory representatives.

Originally founded by a small group of shoe representatives as a "road show" its market was known as the Kentucky Shoe Show.  After incorporation the Board decided to change the market name to the Kentucky Shoe Buying Mart to better reflect the nature of the show.

All cost of the market is born by the exhibitors showing at the market and KSTA's members.
